Synopsis:
“Recite” is an experimental piece that explores the fears of
social acceptance and the labels associated with them, concentrating on
those that surface during childhood. It attempts to revisit and examine
these memories associated with social acceptance and reconsider their imprints
upon us so that we may in turn have a better understanding of their influence.
“Recite” uses a common obstacle for children, the alphabet,
and interweaves elements of time and of memory which become disrupted and
altered over the years through repression and social standards which in
turn mold a fictional ideal of one’s past.
